Architecture is the art and science of designing physical structures. It has to do with unifying and modeling spaces into a coherent structure. Acting like an architect, a planner provides safety, comfort and guarantees a functional use of its planned spaces to its users or occupants.
The main difference between a planned event's space and architecture can be considered the duration. The spaces designed for events exist only during the event period so it’s time based. Before the event, these empty spaces are bare and a blank canvas waiting for a change of state. Another main feature is the dynamism: settings change depending on the purpose of the event taking place at that particular time.
Nothing is definitive in the events industry. That’s why planners use materials that can be quickly set up and torn-down for example, wooden boards, furniture, decorative ornaments and some organic materials like florals.
